Motivation + Real Life
Stress, something we've all experienced...some at higher levels than others. Though stress is a part of life, it doesn't have to become your life. Check out these 6 tips on how to easily and simply manage your every day stress.
R - RELAX. Stressful times cause us to be tense and woundup, but just taking a moment to RELAX can make a big difference. Relaxing by deep breathing, yoga, or going for a walk are all scientifically proven to decrease stress.
E -EAT. The gut is a major mediator of the stress response. Filling your stomach with mind stimulating and feel good foods can help decrease your stress. Raspberries, Avocado, Asparagus, Dark Chocolate, Garlic, and Green tea are a few of the foods that help cut the stress.
S- STEP AWAY. Whether it's your computer screen or iPhone, sometimes you just have to step away to decompress. Looking at a monitor all day has been known to increase your lack of sleep. Try to limit or completely end screen time at least an hour before bedtime.
E - EXPRESS. Sometimes you just have to "let it out." Express how you feel by speaking your truth or by writing down your thoughts or feelings Just expressing your thoughts, fears, and expectations can help relieve some of your stress.
T - TAKE YOUR TIME. Visualizing a time when you were stress-free, on vacation, or just happy can help relieve stress. Bringing on happy thoughts can release oxytocin, causing you to feel happy. Take your time and don't beat yourself up for how you't feeling, but rather, embrace it and face it head on.
Lastly, RESET your thoughts, feelings, and even physical location to a zen-like atmosphere. It's ok to start over and try again!
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
