At the age of seven, I knew TV was for me. I was watching Entertainment Tonight over dinner with my parents--like we did every night--and fell in love. I wanted into that world. And that was it.
While in college at Hampton University, I made my way into radio where I created the station's first-ever entertainment and lifestyle talk show called Media Mixer. I’d really found my lane and soon became the Talk Show Director which allowed me to help others produce their own shows as well. But the most amazing and life-changing opportunity found me when I actually landed a Summer internship with Entertainment Tonight in NYC. I literally couldn’t have been closer to my dream!
After I graduated, I was on my own never-ending quest in life, gaining plenty of valuable experience working both in front of and behind the camera, red carpets, and on studio sets. I was a Public Relations liaison for NASA's Develop Program; Production Assistant at WVEC Channel 13; Host, Reporter, & Producer at Cox Communications; Co-founder & Director of Media Relations for OliveCocoMag.com; National Diversity Leadership Program Facilitator for Monster.com; Host & Reporter for VBTV; and STEM & Entrepreneurship Program Specialist for Virginia Beach City Public Schools. I didn’t always know exactly how all of these pieces would fit together, but I had always felt driven to figure it out.
All of the aforementioned positions allowed me to confidently walk right through the open doors to start my own TV show, Montage, and production company with my husband Joseph, The Redelynn Group-TRG. Montage really took off, and from 2014 to early 2017, it aired on local public access stations in Atlanta (GA), Fresno (CA), New York (NY), Richmond (VA), and Washington (D.C.). I was head over heels in love because I had creative control and freedom to create the content I always wanted to see on TV.
Since then, I’ve worked as the Lifestyle Correspondent on The Hampton Roads Show (NBC/FOX affiliate in Hampton Roads) as well as Virginia This Morning (CBS affiliate in Richmond, VA). Those jobs keep me close to the people and things I’m most passionate about while allowing me the flexibility to do my own thing. And that’s where I really soar.
After years of hard work, I've finally made the decision to really introduce Steph Walters to the world without downplaying what I was doing and without fear of being selfish. TV, talk shows, uncovering the untold stories, highlighting the positives in things, how would I make it all make sense? Then I realized I would do what I’ve always done, but even BIGGER.
I can’t wait to bring the latest in culinary, beauty, inspiration, and event trends to your every day. Luxe lifestyle yOUR way! Because if you want it, you can have it. I believe it, and I’ll continue to live it while creating genuine connections with extraordinary women along the way.
